Sunflower Schoolhouse on Etsy

I have teamed up with my sister Sara, who is a homeschool mama to 4 children under the age of 9, and together we are having a blast creating products for our new Etsy Store.

Sunflower Schoolhouse on Etsy

Our goal is to add new products to the store on a weekly basis, but we am not making any hard and fast promises because as most of you know the daily life of a homeschool mama is unpredictable.

In addition to the links at the top of this post, I have included a link to the store in the sidebar and you can also get there from our Facebook Page.

I hope you will take a few minutes to come over and have a look. The shelves are a bit bare at the moment, but we are hoping to fill them fairly quickly with lovingly made creations.

Homeschool Mother’s Journal

Homeschool Mothers Journal

In my life this week…

We celebrated Victoria Day by watching the parade on television.

In our homeschool this week…

As a family we discussed our goals for next year (and the rest of this year).

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

My sister (and some of her kids) came over to work on a secret project we are working on (to be revealed soon). We had our weekly playdate and visit with Jenn and her kidlets.

My favorite thing this week was…

Brushing my daughter's hair and having her brush mine. She is finally old enough to brush my hair without getting the brush all tied up in a knot.

What’s working/not working for us

We need to rearrange our home again to create some new learning spaces. I can't wrap my head around making our spaces work for our needs. (Time to get creative again.)

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have…

I have been thinking about our homeschool quite a bit this month and I have decided that I want us to focus more on learning, having fun, exploring, creating, etc. than on checking things off of a to-do list.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

moms basket

This is a crocheted basket that I made for my mama for Mother's Day. She loved it. I had fun making it.

There Are Coupon Bloggers In Canada?

House And Home

Okay, I didn’t know that. We all live in igloos and ride snowmobiles, right? Just kidding. I can say that because I live in Canada and I happen to live in a place that rarely, if ever, snows. Did you know that one time I was in California for a youth convention (like 20 years ago – oh man, I feel old) and people in the elevator at the hotel actually asked us if we lived in igloos? It was so crazy.

Back to my topic, coupons.

My mom mentioned the other day that her friend’s daughter went to a coupon seminar. Since I have recently become interested in couponing, I was intrigued to learn more. I love research (you all know that, right?). I sent this gal an email and she responded. It turns out that she is a blogger and she homeschools, too (imagine my excitement discovering that). I can’t wait to share resources with her.

And here is more talk about coupons.

I was chatting the other day with my friend Sara, over at Saving For Someday, about coupons and how to use them. She had some very good advice and we shared some great links with each other. Check out her Couponing 101. Here are some of the links we talked about, my favorite has to be the Bargain Moose (their site design is really fun).

If you know of a coupon blogger in Canada, would you please include their links below?
