Homeschool Conferences

Attend A Homeschooling Conference In Your Pajamas

I have always wanted to attend a “live” homeschool conference, but it has just never worked out for our family. We have a child with autism who cannot hand crowds, we have twins who we are trying to wean, the nearest conference is a ferry ride and a drive away.

I was so excited to discover there were online homeschool conferences. I attended a couple of different online conferences last year, but I absolutely loved the Heart of the Matter conference.

I have already purchased my tickets and I am excited and gearing up for this year’s conference. I need some encouragement, inspiration, and refreshing before I start this new school year. Not to mention some awesome fellowship (and new friends).

Have you purchased your tickets yet?

Times of Refreshing

When you are a mom of many littles and you homeschool, chances are you may not get out too often to chat with other mothers who fall into the same category as you.

For the past couple of years I have heard about the local conferences that are a ferry ride or a ferry ride and 5 hour drive away and I have dreamed. Right now our van is broken and a repair is not imminent, so going to a conference is not likely this year. Not to mention they are all over now anyways.

I was so excited to discover that there were online homeschool conferences that I could attend in my pajamas from the comfort of my living room and laptop. I had never been to an online conference before and had no idea what to expect, but I can tell you that I was blessed and I am looking forward to the next one already.

Last week, I attended the Heart of the Matter {conference}. The speakers were amazing and the chat’s in between were awesome too. I learned a lot. I wish I had taken notes. I need to review the ppt’s and I can’t wait to listen to the MP3 downloads when they are ready.

The chat’s were at a hard time for my time zone so I missed a few of the early sessions (6:30 am is way too early for me). If any of you know me (or chat with me) you will know that I am a night owl. I have been all my life and I don’t think I will be changing that anytime soon. Most days it saves my sanity to have a few quiet hours where all I can hear is the traffic outside and maybe the fan or my husband snoring.

Okay, back to the conference. Every morning, I sat with my coffee, my laptop, and my half opened eyes and listened to the speakers (with headphones) and read the chat. I was introduced to many new faces and wish that I had actually attended all the sessions and participated in the chats to connect more with the other people attending. Note to self for next time.

If you are a mama who desperately needs to connect with other mamas or be freshed by encouraging and supportive speakers, then I highly suggest you attend an online homeschool conference. They happen all throughout the year.

You can expect to hear more about this conference after I sort out the thoughts in my head and listen to the MP3’s to refresh my memory.

Disclosure: I paid for this conference myself. These thoughts and opinions are mine. I really was blessed.

So, tell me please, have you been to an online homeschool conference? What was your favorite part?

Online Home School Conferences

Okay, why didn’t someone tell me about this sooner? I did not know this. I spent all these years wishing that I could go to a live home school conference and here was not one, but three different online options available to me. I am excited to be attending the Heart of the Matter Conference which starts in a few short hours.

If you miss the live conferences, you can still purchase the mp3’s. What are you waiting for? Go get refreshed.
