A Trip Across Canada – Yummy Treats

I had a special request from a reader to write a post about the foods that Canadians eat. In doing my research for this post, I discovered that we have some pretty interesting names for some of the specialty food that is unique to us. I compiled a list of fun foods that have their history in Canada. I tried to include links that had a bit of information about the history of the recipe. Enjoy having a look at and or trying some of these creatively named recipes. Moosehunter Cookies Beaver Tails Poutine Butter Tarts Nanaimo Bars Tortiere Figgy …

Week 1 – Introduction To Our Unit Study

We are going to take a journey across Canada (a pretend one) from now until the end of June 2010. Each week we will visit a different province and learn all about it. I hope you will join us on our journey. I hope to include links to on-line resources, printables, and some free downloads to go with our study. We are also using the Student Pages Volume 1 which includes coloring pages, activity pages, and maps. There are no instructions in this book (which is why we purchased the Activity Book 1 as well). We also have Test Pages Volume 1 which we use as …

Learners TV

I come across many things in my searches around the Internet. Sometimes I save interesting things to put together into longer posts or put up on my Homeschool4Free pages. I haven’t quite figured out where this one will go yet, but it is a really awesome resource that I thought some of you would definitely be interested in. I wanted to put it somewhere (how about a simple blog post?) so it didn’t get misplaced. Learners TV is a collection of on-line lectures (whole courses in fact) on a variety of different topics (including – Physics, Chemistry, Nursing, History, etc). …
