5 Finger Bedroom Clean-up

bedroom clean up

I don’t know about you, but I am always trying to make things easier for myself and my kids. Don’t get me wrong, I am NOT against hard work. I just prefer productivity over busy work.

My big boys often complain that their rooms are too hard to clean. I also have one that asks me to break every job down into smaller bits. I have drawn this hand so many times on paper that I thought it was high time to make an official printable (for them and you).

Cleaning bedrooms is easier when you break the job down into smaller pieces. Most jobs are easier when you do that. For us, the bedroom clean up is usually the same.

If we start with the beds that gets any blankets off the floor. The laundry is (or can be) the next largest culprit. After the laundry comes books. If your kids are anything like mine, they love to read or look at books. When those three tasks are finished we are often left with tiny toys and paper trash. You can’t see the toys or the trash if they are covered by blankets, dirty clothes, and books.

I have included the chart as a pdf printable in the hopes that it might help you and your family. If you put it in a plastic sleeve then you or your child can use a dry erase marker to check off the tasks as they are completed.
