Do Hard Things

It’s late, and I really should be in bed. I can’t. I simply can’t go to bed again with this thought rolling around in my head. I was on a blog recently called The Rebelution. I stumbled there somehow and started reading. I really enjoyed what I read. I watched a few video clips. I had my kids watch a video clip – the one about the bean bag eating the man – you’ll find it if you go there. It was intriguing. I was inspired. I want to buy the book – Do Hard Things.  That phrase has stuck with me and I can’t let it go. I have been inspired to challenge myself and my family to Do Hard Things. I really feel a need to push past the ordinary and work harder to accomplish something extra ordinary. Push a little harder. Do hard things. There is a title bar (for a conference) that says “Raising Kids To Do Hard Things.” I want to raise my kids to be able to do hard things. I need to set the example and do hard things myself.

I encourage you to hop on over to The Rebelution and take a look around. Who knows, you might be challenged to do hard things too?

If you are inspired to share any thoughts, I love comments.

  1. We have had all of our children read the book Do Hard Things. Very thought provoking and challenging. We also did this book with a number of the young people at church. It was so great to see the Lord use this in their life to catch the vision of a life set apart. I keep a stack of these books in my closet…great Christmas gift or graduation gift! We too loved the bean bag video…all I have to say know is bean bag and my guys step back and evaluate their steps. Have a blessed day!
