Project home learn

We are taking a different approach to homeschooling this year. That’s why I created the blog Project: Home Learn for my kids.

Think wokboxes gone digital and you will be close. We are testing this idea to see if it works for our family.

Each child has a task list that they are required to complete for the day. After they have completed the task list they have free time. The twins task lists are still a work in progress.

We are currently using a combination of the iMac, the iPad, and my new Nexus 7 to see if the concept works and warrants us spending money on a device for each of the older kids.

I look forward to sharing more about this idea we go along.

Visit project home learn if you are curious.

Oh that’s a great idea Honey! We are using the computer again this year but with more purpose than last year. For. Math we have started using Kahn Academy, which looks like it will work out very well. There are no praise levels, just skills, achievements, and they earn bridges based on time spent and skills acquired. They like it better than Teaching Textbooks, which they DO enjoy. And it is free! Complete math program for about 5th grade and up.

I so *love* this! Can my kids follow along too? =) You are amazing, but I already knew that. *smile*
So glad I dropped by when I did; it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to read one of my favorite blogs, and know I can follow the other one too! How fun.
